This photo shows the incredible moment a terrified woman named Melora Rivera hid from an intruder on the roof of her home in Venice, Los Angeles last week, only for him to appear behind her. The scary photo which was taken by her neighbour and later shared online shows Melora hiding from the man, later identified as 29 year old vagrant Christian Hicks, who had broken into her home as she slept. She hid on the roof and quickly called police but as she was there waiting for help, the intruder showed up on the roof with a knife looking for her.Fortunately, the police arrived at her home just in time to rescue her. And they also manged to coax the intruder down too..see more photos below.

Senate okays Jonathan’s $1bn loan request for arms:


The Senate on Thursday approved President Goodluck Jonathan’s request of $1bn external loan to fight the ongoing insurgency in the country.The decision was taken following the submission of the report of the Senate Joint Committee on Finance and that of Local and Foreign Debt by the Chairman, Senator Ahmed Makarfi...
Makarfi said the loan request was not in cash but supply of military hardware to be paid for, over seven years.He said the interest terms rate could not be indicated because it was the suppliers of the military hardware that would negotiate such agreement.He said, “Also, the request is for a ceiling of $1bn and not that, at the moment, the whole amount would be utilised.“Government will procure on the terms stated, based on needs assessment of our security agencies.”There was however, a mild drama on the floor of the red chamber when Senate President, David Mark; his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu; and Makarfi urged their colleagues not to subject the report to a debate because of its security implications.

Panic in Liberian villages as two Ebola victims 'rise from the dead'


There's currently panic, fear and confusion in two villages in Nimba County in Liberia after reports that two female Ebola victims have risen from the dead.

According to local reports, 44 year old Dorris Quoi who lived in Hope Village Community and a 67 year old woman identified as Ma Kebeh, died of the Ebola virus and were about to be taken for burial when they resurrected and are now walking among the living.

Pro-Ayo Fayose thugs allegedly beat up Judge in Ekiti State



Pandemonium broke out this morning at the Ekiti state High court after a judge, Justice John Adeyeye, was allegedly beaten up by thugs believed to be loyal to Governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, for allegedly being rude to him.

According to Premium Times, Fayose arrived the court house in company of about twenty of his 'supporters' for the Ekiti State Governorship Election petition tribunal which was to hold today.

The judge, seeing the number of supporters that accompanied Fayose to the court house asked him to direct them outside as they were not allowed inside the court premises. This is said to have infuriated Fayose and his supporters..

Borno Gov Shettima to Spend N100m on 57 Escaped Chibok Girls


Borno government has set aside N100 million annually for the education of the 57 escaped students of Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS), Chibok. Gov. APC Memebers Sue Jonathan,Says He is Not Eligible To Contest


Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) have approached a federal high court sitting in Abuja to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the attorney general of the federation (AGF) from allowing President Goodluck Jonathan to participate in the 2015 presidential election. In a suit filed by four Senior Advocates of Nigeria, the plaintiffs argued that by the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the president, having contested the presidential election twice, won and took the oath of office and allegiance twice in respect of that office can no longer present himself for election to that office the third time.

Imo State police command bans vigilante from bearing arms



The Imo State Police Command has banned vigilante groups and the Imo Security Network from bearing firearms.Governor Rochas Okorocha established the security network shortly after taking charge of state affairs.Similarly, the police warned that any person or group of persons found to be in possession of firearms at the expiration of the two weeks deadline would be ruthlessly dealt with.

EFCC arraign six for unauthorised fishing


Six men were on Wednesday arraigned along with their company, Oshine Resources Ventures Limited, for unauthorised fishing by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The men, said to be apprehended by the Nigerian Navy on March 27, 2014, were arraigned before Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court , Lagos, on two counts. The accused names were given as Adekunle Oshingbosi, Momodu Ibrahim, Idowu Tuesday, Yogbosi Christian, Benjamin Ayele and Anthony Mendeho.In a charge tagged FHC/LG179C/2014, the EFCC alleged that the men fished in the Nigerian territorial waters without obtaining lawful authority.

MUTINY: Ex-Senate President in court to stop sentence


Former Senate President Ameh Ebute, on Wednesday filed an appeal against the execution of six of the 12 soldiers condemned to death by the Military Tribunal, which tried and found them guilty of mutiny.Ebute, a renowned lawyer, also filed a motion for a stay of execution of the condemned soldiers at the Appeal Court in Abuja. Ameh told Vanguard in an interview that he filed the appeal in accordance with Sections 183 and 184 of the Armed forces Act cap A of the Laws of the Federation, which give the condemned men up to 10 days to appeal against their conviction.

TRAGEDY:13 killed as bus, truck collide on Aba-Owerri Expressway

ISIS-linked terrorist group beheads Frenchman abducted in Algeria



55 year old Herve Gourdel, has been beheaded by the ISIS-linked Islamist group Jund al-Khilifa in Algeria in revenge for France launching airstrikes on Iraq. The French man was captured in Algeria while hiking in the Djurdjura National Park on Sunday September 21st just one day after he arrived the country for a walking holiday.

The terrorists threatened to kill the Frenchman unless France stops bombing militants in Iraq. They killed him a few hours later and released the video showing his beheading. France started bombing ISIS in Iraq last Friday...

Vatican Puts Bishop Expelled For Child Sex Abuse Under House Arrest



Archbishop Jozef  Wesolowski a former Vatican Ambassador to the Dominican Republic has been placed under house arrest over sexual abuse of children. Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said on Wednesday in Vatican City that Pope Francis had personally ordered swift action in the case.
He said the 65-year old former archbishop was convicted of sex abuse by a Church tribunal in June and defrocked pending further criminal proceedings. Lombardi said the legal move was the result of the pope’s express wish for a case this serious and sensitive to be dealt with without delay.
He said Wesolowski was being held under house arrest in an apartment within the same building as the criminal court.

Breaking:Atiku’s Presidential declaration spoil things for Abuja residents


The Yar’ Adua Centre Axis of the Federal Capital territory, FCT has been permanently blocked by security agents and traffic officers, as the former Vice President, Atiku  Abubakar begins the declaration of his 2015 presidential ambition. A brief visit to the venue and all its surroundings by newsmen revealed the horrific traffic hold-up created by the security agents who were seen turning back workers plying that route to their offices. Most of the workers who have no alternative routes to access their offices were however left stranded, making phone calls to alert their superiors about the development. Most staff of Rhythm Fm and others working within the Silverbird gallery could not have access to their offices and were forcefully turned back. Workers that spoke with DailyPost on the development expressed great bitterness over the development. SAD: 28yr old nurse hangs herself after suffering chronic skin disease


A health visitor with a first class honours degree in nursing was found hanged after she became tormented by her severe skin condition. Hollie McEwen, a dedicated professional, first suffered psoriasis as a 12-month-old but it eased with treatment. However, it later reappeared due to stress and the 28-year-old became so depressed she took her own life at home.Her father Andrew told an inquest: 'Her condition played a large part in what she decided to do. 'She was a beautiful, vibrant young woman who felt she couldn't deal with the condition. She felt this was the only way out.'

4 months after being released from prison, man gets re-arrested for robbery



An ex-convict who was released from prison four moths ago after spending 7 years in kirikiri has been arrested again by men of the Lagos state Police command after he and his gang snatched a car in the Yaba area of Lagos.
