An unlikely tragedy occurred on Saturday when a groom died just few hours to his wedding, leaving his bride in shock and mystery.
The 38-year-old late Bartholomew, who was a vulcanizer, was on his way to the Church for his wedding ceremony when he died in a ghastly accident.
According to reports, his Best man who was conveying him on a motorcycle to the
wedding venue in Ekwuluobia where his bride was already waiting for him ran into a Camry car whom the driver had opened the door, not knowing a motorcycle was coming from behind.
His Best Man sustained minor injuries but the groom was hit hard by the car's door – he landed on the tarred road hitting his head against the hard surface and died on the spot.
His corpse was deposited in a mortuary while the Best Man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
