KIDNAP: Gunmen Kidnap Benue Commissioner

Gunmen believed to be staunch members of a kidnapping syndicate have reportedly abducted the commissioner for women affairs in Benue State, Barrister Mwuese Mnyim.
The abductors, it was gathered on Sunday , kidnapped the commissioner at the entrance of her residence located in the highbrow New GRA Makurdi, while she was returning from a meeting from the government house.
This is coming just as the corpse of a woman, identified as Charity Aba, who was abducted by some unknown gunmen in Otukpo town  of Benue State, was yesterday discovered and dumped on the street in the area.
It was gathered that the deceased victim, an Igbo woman from Enugu State, was reportedly kidnapped in front of her residence in Otukpo. She was abducted when she came from an evening church service and was waiting for the gate of her house to be opened.
The ugly incident is  coming in about a month after  the vicar-general of Otukpo Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. John Adeyi, was abducted in Otukpa area of the state, and has not being found, either dead or alive.
Chief press secretary to the governor, Terver Akase, told LEADERSHIP on telephone yesterday that “the information on the kidnap of the commissioner was sketchy and yet to be confirmed when it was later received that she was again, released by the abductors the next day. But we will confirm and reach you accordingly.”
Meanwhile, the police public relations officer,Moses Yamu, told newsmen in Makurdi on Sunday that the remains of Aba was dumped at the Enugu roundabout of Otukpo town early hours of the holy day.
According to Yamu, the lifeless body of the deceased was found with a deep cut on the face, assuming that the abductors might have killed her using a dangerous weapon before dumping her corpse in Otukpo township area
