PDP to emerge majority in Senate as Saraki, 15 others plan to defect

According to Breaking Times, sources close to Dr Bukola Saraki revealed that the Senate president has perfected contingency plans to defect to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) if the All Progressive Congress (APC) senators begin impeachment processes against him.
Senator Saraki who is facing trial at the Code of Conduct tribunal for about eight months has now been pushed over the edge by the Federal government who slammed fresh charges of forgery on him and his deputy Senator Ike Ekweremmadu
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and the party’s caucus in the House of Representatives have woken up in support of Saraki and Ekweremmadu and urged President Muhammadu Buhari to call the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to order to desist forthwith in their persecution of Senate President Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu
The sources revealed that Mr Saraki is confident of clearing his name in all the court cases or at least delay judgement for as long as he wants but is afraid the APC senators that make up the majority in the senate might someday vote him out of office
It was revealed that Dr Saraki alongside 15 like-minded senators of the APC have perfected plans to defect to the PDP in order to avoid Saraki’s impeachment
If Mr Saraki defects to the PDP with the said number of senators, he will be highly immune to impeachment and will only have to worry about clearing his name in the court cases against him
