EFCC Freezes Cletus Ibeto's Accounts

Billionaire businessman and head of The Ibeto Group, Cletus Ibeto has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over his alleged role in arms procurement deals, SIGNAL can report.

Sources familiar with the development told SIGNAL Wednesday night that bank accounts belonging to the business mogul who presides over one of Africa’s largest business enterprises have also been frozen by the EFCC.

Efforts by our reporter to reach Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson of the EFCC proved abortive at the time of filing this report.

It will be recalled that Nigeria’s Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo alleged on Monday that around $15 billion — equal to about half the country’s foreign currency reserves — was stolen from Nigeria’s public purse under the previous government of Goodluck Jonathan through fraudulent arms procurement deals.

Idoma Group Lambasts Northern Governors For Defending Fulani Herdsmen

A pan-Idoma group, the Opiatoha K’Idoma has faulted the position of the Northern governors on the activities of Fulani herdsmen in parts of the country, saying that the governors tended to exonerate the herdsmen from the recent massacre of hundreds of persons in Agatu local government area of Benue State.

The group cautioned that statements on a sensitive issue like the mindless killing of innocent Nigerians by the herdsmen should be handled with utmost care not to aggravate the already tense situation in parts of the country. According to him, ”anyone or group of persons who engage in the wanton destruction of lives and properties of innocent and defenceless Nigerians like the Fulani herdsmen are at present perpetrating across the country, ought to be treated as criminals. “You don’t visit the home of another and unleash mayhem on the people.

Okupe Urges Governors To Sack Workers Over Cash Crunch

Doyin Okupe, a former Senior Special Assistant to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has urged state governors to downsize their workforce in view of the current cash crunch.

According to him, all state governments in the country have over-bloated civil service.

He suggested that downsizing be continued in states at an annual rate of about 10 percent for about five years, saying this would create space for a controlled employment of “new youthful and better trained civil servants.”

Leicester Target Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa For Next Season

Nigeria’s and CSKA Moscow striker, Ahmed Musa is on the radar of Leicester City for next season.

Leicester who may win the English league crown in a few hours today are said to have revived their interest in the Nigerian international as they plan for the Champions League next season.

The 23-year-old was a target for Claudio Ranieri in January but Leicester believed CSKA’s asking price was too high as they pushed for £20million.

Musa is fast, can play across the frontline and has scored 12 goals in 32 games this season. He also has Champions League experience, something lacking in Ranieri’s squad for now.

The Mail Online reported that Leicester sent scouts to watch Musa against Lokomotiv Moscow earlier this month to keep up to date with his performances.

Leicester had two bids rejected in January but will hope to strike a compromise at around £18m for Musa in the coming weeks.

New DEADLY STD Is Sweeping South Africa and can't be prevented with the use of condoms.

A new deadly desease has hit South Africa. In April alone, more than 150 cases of this new STD have been reported in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and KZN.
While some STDs are annoying and uncomfortable, they’re generally not lethal. For example, chlamydia is treated with antibiotics and crabs are treated with an over-the-counter shampoo product. Other STDs have more dangerous effects. HIV is traditionally the most feared, but not necessarily the easiest to contract. What you need to be aware of is Human Papillomavirus (HPV) – it’s the leading killer of women worldwide and it’s incredibly easy to transmit.
While condoms are extremely effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy and a different array of STDs (like HIV), it can’t fully protect you against HPV. For women, the silent killer can lie dormant for years before it strikes. Here’s how to protect yourself and what to look for. More pics below.

Buhari’s Economic Policies “opaque, Archaic” – Oby Ezekwesili

President Muhammadu Buhari’s current economic policies bear a stark resemblance of those he promulgated during the military regime he led in the 1980s, a former Minister of Education and social critic, Oby Ezekwesili, has said.
Mrs. Ezekwesili said Mr. Buhari’s “archaic” and “opaque” economic principles are not only encouraging massive corruption and abuse of power, but also hurting the poor they was intended to help.
Mrs. Ezekwesili said this at The Platform, a yearly public policy forum that is currently underway in Abuja.
“During the first coming of this our new president, a command and control economic system was adopted.
“During that era, inflation spiralled. During that era, jobs were lost. During that era, the economic growth level dipped,” Mrs. Ezekwesili said. “That era wasn’t the best of eras in economic progress.”
“What did not work in 1984 cannot possibly be a solution in a global economy that’s much more integrated.”
