Newly married nurse confirmed to have Ebola in Lagos



A newly married nurse who had direct contact with late Patrick Sawyerr, the Liberian with the first case of Ebola virus in Nigeria, has tested positive to the deadly disease. 
According to the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, the husband of the nurse is among the 177 people placed under surveillance.

29 year old British woman Sarah Ward gave birth to four children in a space of nine months after falling pregnant with triplets just weeks after she gave birth to her first child.

Her son Freddie was only nine months old when she and her partner Benn Smith, were shocked to discover they had triplets on the way. They later welcomed two boys - Stanley and Reggie and a girl, Daisy. Describing life since being the mother of four little children Sarah Ward said 'At times it feels more like running a nursery than a home but we feel blessed'.

Boko Haram seizes four towns in Borno and Yobe states


Last week, Boko Haram men took over four towns in Borno and Yobe states after a gun battle with  military men guarding the areas.The four towns they seized are; Gwoza in Borno state and Buni Yadi, Buni Gari and Goniri, all in Gujba local government area of Yobe State.

Not only did they overwhelm the Nigerian soldiers deployed to guard the towns, they also killed at least 100 residents, including the brother of Emir of Gwosa and the chief Imam of Gwoza's major Mosque. 

Man kills his wife just a day after she gave birth to their twins

A woman identified as Titilayo Kola was yesterday strangulated to death allegedly by her husband a day after she was delivered of twins, The Nation reports
Sources revealed that the incident took place at the couple’s apartment at No 23, Temidire Street, Ajowa area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Findings further revealed that the deceased’s husband, one Mr. Kola, popularly known in asMelomelo (how many, how many), had escaped with the twins even as he was reported to have slept in the same room with his late wife, their new twins and other four children the night before the incident.

How policemen sold corpse of UNICAL student to his school


Facts surrounding the whereabouts of a 300-level student of the Department of Accounting, 

University of Calabar, Derek Maurice-Enang, have emerged. His cadaver was allegedly sold to the 

Anatomy Department of the same institution by a team of four policemen led by a sergeant, Anthony 

Idoko, attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Cross River State Police Command 

headquarters in Calabar at the cost of N11,000.

Gov Rochas Okorocha orders arrest of contractors

APC spokesman Lai Mohammed arrested in Osun



National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, was arrested by security agents in Osogbo,last night a few hours to today’s governorship election in Osun State.
He is one of the many leaders and supporters of the party seemingly targeted by soldiers and other security operatives.About 30 student supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun State had been picked up earlier in the day in Ilesa in what the party said was part of the plan to intimidate it ahead of today’s governorship election.
Other leaders of the party including the State Commissioner for Agriculture,Mr.Wale Adedoyin and the Chairman of Osogbo Local Government were also abducted last night by suspected thugs of the PDP

Ebola: 139 People are Under Surveillance in Lagos

At a press briefing on Friday in Lagos, the Minister of Health Prof. Chukwu Onyebuchi confirmed to reporters that there are two new cases of the Ebola infection in Lagos.
It now brings the number of cases recorded to nine. Onyebuchi also said that apart from the two fresh cases, there are also six suspected cases.

Ebola: 2 Dead, 20 Hospitalised after Excessive Consumption of Salt in Jos


Salt is not the solution for the Ebola virus.
This Day Newspaper reports that at least two people are feared dead, while 20 others are hospitalised in various hospitals in Plateau State after consuming excessive quantity of salt and bitter kola to prevent Ebola Virus Disease .
According to the publication, the two who were rushed to the hospital by family members, collapsed in the morning after consuming too much salt over night.
They reportedly later died of high blood pressure in the hospital.
